       The Family Empowerment Center (FEC) St. Louis Rebels Youth Basketball Organization is a 501©3 Non –Profit organization  and a member of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU); whose sole mission is to teach children the fundamentals of basketball, ethics, build character, develop self-esteem, strong citizenship, physical fitness; motivate them to excell in school and life through academic and behavioral based programs and trips. We promote the Student Athlete; there are team-scheduled trips to the library in order to promote reading as well as weekly reading logs. We strive to impact a young person’s life by emphasizing the importance of education and family as well as developing his or her basketball skills. Currently we have teams that play locally and travel teams. We intend to make basketball available year round to participants through various leagues, tournaments, camps and clinics. We strive to keep program fees as low as possible to ensure affordability to as wide a spectrum of athletes’ as possible; however the rising cost of gym rental, league and tournament registration, equipment and travel cost places us in the position of asking for additional monetary donations or sponsorships.
